U.K. Housing Equity Injection Lowest Since 2008

In World Economy News 07/07/2016

Britons’ housing equity injections reached its lowest level since early 2008, the Bank of England said Wednesday.
Households injected GBP 4.86 billion in the first quarter, compared to GBP 8.19 billion in the prior quarter. This was the lowest since the first quarter of 2008.
HEW occurs when withdrawals of housing equity by the household sector are larger than injections of equity.
When households, in aggregate, are withdrawing more equity than they are injecting, HEW is positive. When they are injecting more than they are withdrawing, HEW is negative.
